Advanced Periodontal Treatments for Receding Gums and Gum Disease

Protect your teeth and reduce the risk of gum disease with an effective periodontal treatment plan. We offer the following advanced treatments:

The Chao Pinhole® Surgical Technique is a minimally-invasive treatment for patients with receding gums. We use a special technique to reposition the gum tissue without any incisions or sutures

Patients with early to moderate gum disease may be great candidates for non-surgical periodontal treatment. This type of treatment focuses on letting the body heal itself after thorough removal of bacterial contaminants with frequent hygiene visits performed over 12 months’ time. With commitment to improved home care, many cases treated this way do not require surgical of intervention.

You may need a bone graft if you have lost a significant amount of bone after gum disease. We may use the autogenous, allograft or xenograft technique to restore lost bone.

Restore the natural contours of your smile and ward off the effects of jaw bone loss with a ridge augmentation or preservation procedure. We can perform a soft or hard tissue augmentation procedure to help you get your beautiful smile back.

A sinus augmentation or sinus lift works to increase the amount of available bone in the upper jaw area. This may be necessary before undergoing a dental implant procedure.

You may need a gum graft if you have receding gums and noticeable damage to the gum line. We perform connective tissue, free gingival and other types of grafts depending on your specific needs.

Maintain your periodontal health after gum disease with a comprehensive maintenance plan. This may include regular deep cleaning sessions and evaluations for hidden periodontal problems, as well as using prescription-strength products to ward off an infection.

If other periodontal treatments have failed, we can perform a gingivectomy to remove and reshape loose gum tissue and reduce periodontal pocket depth after gum disease.

This is a nonsurgical periodontal treatment that can help to reduce pocket depth and improve the overall health of the gums. It involves a deep cleaning below the gum line and polishing the surface of the teeth.

Patients with moderate to advanced periodontal disease may be good candidates for osseous surgery, otherwise known as flap surgery. This procedure works to eliminate periodontal pocketing and is performed under conscious sedation with local anesthesia.
