Are the Teeth Worth the Cost?

Financing Options

Dental implant surgery is becoming more common as the months and years go on. Patients everywhere are turning to implants as their teeth reconstruction route, because they are strong, natural looking and permanent. Dental implants may be needed for a multitude of reasons. Depending on your reasoning, you may need extra procedures done prior to the implant surgery, which may mean extra cost. Implants are no doubt expensive, but are available at varying price points. If you are interested in going through with the dental implant surgery, there are a few things that you are going to want to become aware of first. Understanding the implant process is important, as is fully understanding the price and what you can expect to pay for your unique needs.

When you’re deciding on the implant procedure, you should see your dentist for an initial consultation. From here, they will examine the mouth and decide what procedures, if any need to be completed before the implants are placed. While they are doing their examination, they will check for the health of the gums as well as the density of the jawbone. Your dentist will perform these checks because if the gums and jawbone are not healthy enough and the implant is placed, you may risk dealing with failing dental implants. If your dentist decides you do need to undergo soft tissue grafting or bone grafting, it will cost an extra amount, on top of the implant price. While the price point will go up, these procedures are necessary if you do not want to risk having to get your implants replaced.

Another check your dentist will complete is how many implants you need placed, if you want implant supported dentures or what materials you prefer. If you only need a single or few teeth replaced, the cost is drastically different than needing full mouth reconstruction. The material is another cost, because the more durable you want your teeth, the more the price may rise.

Price point of implants always vary based on patient and may even vary based on doctor. It is important to do as much research as possible before going through with the procedure, and work out a deal with your doctor if you need a payment plan.

Dental implants change lives, and if you think you could be a candidate for the treatment, consult with your doctor and schedule an appointment.
