The Different Ways That You Can Give Your Smile A Makeover!

There are many reasons why you may want a smile makeover. The lack of confidence caused by crooked or damaged teeth, tooth discoloration, missing teeth, or the appearance of smaller teeth can cause a great deal of anxiety when we are out in public and smile. This constant worry about the appearance of our teeth can make it hard to relax and enjoy life. Not to worry though, there are plenty of treatments one can make to bring confidence back to their smile!

Smile Makeover Options

One of those options is composite fillings. These are usually undertaken when you have a cavity. The composite material is a hard resin-like substance that matches the color of your natural teeth to make it appear to be a natural tooth. Along with the shaping a dentist undertakes to make the tooth feel natural after a filling is placed, this option saves any of the remaining healthy teeth unaffected by cavities.

If you have straight teeth, then you may investigate getting teeth whitening done. As compared to teeth whitening bought in drug stores, teeth whitening offered by a dentist not only gives better whitening results but also lasts longer than the usual drug store brands.

Another option for a better smile is porcelain veneers. Porcelain veneers are a strong but thin tooth-colored shell layer over the natural teeth to give a more aesthetic look to the upper or lower set of teeth. Porcelain is because of its closeness to natural white tooth color. Veneers mask any uneven, chipped, or damaged teeth and give a nice even look and feel.

There is also orthodontic treatment. Orthodontic treatment straightens the teeth you already have to give you an even-looking smile. Orthodontic treatment is also used to correct overbites, where your upper jaw sits ahead of your lower jaw when biting down, and underbites, where your lower jaw sits ahead of your upper jaw when biting down. There are many ways this is performed but the most common one is with metal braces cemented to the teeth with wires which work to straighten the teeth and align the upper and lower jaw.

If you are missing teeth, there is the option of having a dental implant. After removing any remaining parts of the tooth, a hole is made in your jawbone to set a post to be topped with a crown. The crown acts as a replacement tooth and requires the same care as natural teeth all while giving the same look and feel as the rest of your teeth.

Finally, there are dental bridges. Dental bridges are like dental implants except they are supported using the other tooth structures near them. By cementing them in place between the other teeth, dental bridges bridge the gap between the teeth and restore the look of your teeth.
